NDC Akatsi North 2016 Election Taskforce Inaugurated

Ms Helen Adwoa Ntosu, Volta Regional Minister has called on the people of the region to ignore the vile propaganda by the opposition and vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 polls.

She said claims by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the region gained nothing for their support for the NDC over the years was a “mere rhetoric to deceive them and must be rubbished”.

Ms. Ntosu, addressing Akatsi North NDC stakeholders meeting and inauguration of  2016 Campaign Taskforce at Ave-Dakpa, said a Volta Regional “Green Book” containing the development projects, district by district, will soon be launched to “disprove those lies”.

She said it is only non-performing people who are replaced and since President Mahama is performing, changing lives and transforming Ghana “there is no wisdom in replacing him with NPP’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, whose leadership credibility is in doubt.”

She said the Ho-Aflao Trunk Road has been given on contract for asphalting, adding “this one too has taken meat out the NPP campaign message.”

Mr Joseph Amenowode, a former Volta Regional Minister and 2016 NDC Volta Regional Campaign Coordinator, launching the Taskforce urged everyone to carry the messages across.

Mr Henry Ametefe, a former Deputy Volta Regional Minister and now NDC Regional Organiser, asked the youth to eschew violence in the elections as it serves them and the nation no purpose in the long term.

Mr James Gunu, District Chief Executive of the area, said the creation of the Akatsi North District has brought much development to the area and asked the people to retain the Government so as not to truncate the pace of progress.

Mr Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, Member of Parliament of the area, said this year’s election was a different ball game and asked the people to retain the NDC.
