Bukom Banku Apologizes To Asenke

Ghanaian hip life artiste and Chief Executive Officer of Ekuis Entertainment Asenke in an exclusive interview with Flex newspaper last week, has expressed how happy he is after Bukom Banku apologized to him for his conduct over shooting a music video with Ayitey Powers.

Asenke released a new song titled Okwe featuring King Jerry produced by Appietus weeks ago and according to him, he was inspired by boxer Ayitey Powers Efee Bo Tan, Shi Okwe theme which is a Ga phrase meaning you hate it but you still show interest.

“Since the term belongs to Ayitey Powers, I decided to feature him in the video just like dancehall artiste Shatta Wale did with the Biegya song by featuring Achipalago in the video,” he said.

Speaking about the video, he said he has shot videos with many video directors but comparing this video to the ones he has shot in the past, this comes across as the best in terms of quality of pictures. “I got it as early as I wanted compared to the money song I featured Afriyie which was shot by Lex McCarthy and for the past eight months I have still not received the video,” The Okwe video has scenes that will be in the interest of music lovers including men of God because it contains a lot,” he added.

“After shooting the video with Ayitey Powers at Sukura by Steven films, Bukom Banku hasn’t been happy with me,” he disclosed. He said Bukom Banku sent him messages asking why he did a song with Ayittey Powers. He stopped picking his calls and he didn’t really know why he took that decision.

“If he has a problem with them, it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t use them if necessary. So, I told him if he has an issue with me, he should just let me know so that we solve our issues amicably,” he further stated. He later said he disgraced him since he felt he had formed an alliance against him but that is not the case so he didn’t say anything bad.

“Finally, we thank God he has apologized for showing me attitude and I think he has shown maturity as a friend and a brother from another mother. Bukom Banku and I are close again like we used to be. So if anybody heard we had issues concerning the video, yes it was true but now everything is over and we are friends again,” he told Flex newspaper.

“This is my last song in the year and also a last song to close my album soon to be released. I decided to release the album titled Not Yet Done this year but because of the election I will wait till next year,” he concluded.
