Wa All Stars crowned Ghana Premier League Champions

WA All Stars were officially crowned Champions of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi.
 
Players and officials received their medals after their 3-0 defeat to relegated Sekondi Hasaacas in what could be described as a coronation game.

The WA-based Club confirmed themselves as Champions after defeating Aduana Stars last week at the Malik Jabir Park in WA.

The final day of matches also saw the battle of relegation dog fight as the likes of Inter-Allies, Liberty Professionals, Techiman City, Ebusua Dwarfs and Berekum Chelsea were all seeking to avoid the drop.

Inter-Allies managed to hold Aduana Stars to a 1-1 draw at the Dormaa Park to confirm their stay in the League. CNN best goal winner Bright Adjei and Prince Baffoe were on target for Aduana Stars and Inter-Allies respectively.

 Elsewhere at the Dawu Park, visiting Ebusua Dwarfs recorded a 2-0 win over Dreams FC to avoid relegation. Stephen Bentil and Joseph Amoah were on target for Dwarfs.

Goals from Eric Ametepe, Stephen Owusu, Nana Tei-Horsu and Stephen Amankona saw Berekum Chelsea wallop Techiman City 4-0 at the Gold City Park.

Kwesi Donsu’s brace and another from Yaro Ibrahim for Medeama SC was cancelled by goals from Ashanti Gold’s Mumuni Shafiu, Dauda Mohammed and Anthony Yerfu.

Abdul Wahab Annan’s consolation for New Edubiase was not enough as Patrick Razak and Cosmos Dauda scored to hand Hearts of Oak a 3-1 win over the relegation bound.

Bennette Offori and Kwasi Nti scored as Kotoko defeated WAFA 2-1 at the Babayara Sports Stadium. Charles Boateng was on target for WAFA.

Liberty Professionals wonderkind Latif Blessing emerged the top scorer of this year’s Ghana Premier League after bagging a hat-trick in their 3-1 win over Bechem United to increase his tally to 17.
