Gt. Olympics Spent GHC1M To Ensure Qualification To GPL

Board Member of Accra Great Olympics Fred Pappoe has revealed his side spent a whopping GHC1 million to ensure qualification to the domestic top-flight.
 
Olympics earned promotion to the elite division after defeating Tudu Might Jets 2-1 in the GN Bank Division one League on Sunday.

The Wonder Club joins Elmina Sharks as two out of the three Clubs to confirm their qualification to the Ghana Premier League.

The Club according to the former Ghana Football Association executive committee member spent huge sums of money to qualify back to the League.

“We have sacrificed a lot, I can tell you we spent about GHC1 million to qualify back to the League, this includes paying bonuses, transportation, feeding, accommodation,” he told Happy Fm.

“We made sure we motivated our players by ensuring they feel comfortable so we had to sacrifice and put in enough resources.

Great Olympics got relegated to the second –tier at the end of the 2014/15 Ghana Premier League season.

The Club with a game in hand lie top of zone 3 with 63 points.
