Black Stars Squad To Face Uganda And South Africa Out

Kumasi-based Angel FM has released the list of invited Black Stars players for their 2018 FIFA World Cup opening qualifier against Uganda and also the friendly against South Africa.

Norway-based Gilbert Koomson who plays for Sogndal is the only debutants in the 24-man squad.

The 22-year-old has scored three goals in 23 league appearances this season.

The list includes injured players Phil Ofosu Ayeh, Alfred Duncan and Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah who are to be replaced.

On-loan Al Ahli striker and team captain Asamoah Gyan makes a return to the squad after missing this month’s matches against Rwanda and Russia.

Also is Lorient striker Abdul Majeed Waris who has not featured for the team this year.

The Black Stars will start training in Tamale on Tuesday for the double assignments.
