You Are A Liar Nyantakyi Tells Vanderpuye

President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, has described as ‘blatant lies’ comments made by the Minster for Youth and Sports that he had communicated his intentions to resign his position to him if he ever wins the FIFA Executive Committee position.

Challenging calls by Hon. Vanderpuye in a radio interview on Accra-based Radio Gold, the sports minister revealed that Mr. Nyantakyi has officially disclosed his intent to resign his position as it has been the norm for most of the Federations heads,

But Mr. Nyantakyi stressed that he had never met or spoken with the minister anywhere neither has he made any official phone call to him to discuss any issue.

“I simply don’t know where all these misinformation is coming from. I accept if you don’t like me but I will not tolerate it if such untruths will be peddled around by the minister.”

A very furious Nyantakyi also described Hon. Vanderpuye’s calls to resign as a display of naivety on the functions and requirements of appointees who serve on the highest football decision making board.

“When you go on the FIFA Board, there are several examples of various Federation Heads serving on the board so I feel he should get his facts rights before he decides to make comments concerning my appointment.”

He also revealed that even though they were ready to liaise with the Ministry for the proper administration of football in the country, the minister’s unsubstantiated comments and his continuous intent to malign the activities of the FA would only lead to the retrogression of football development in the country.
