Kofi and Crown of Glory nominated for IGMA

US based gospel band, Kofi and Crown of Glory has been nominated in the 2009 Independent Gospel Music Award coming up on November 14th in Woodbridge Virginia. The Washington DC based band has dominated the National Chart for two straight weeks at reverbnation.com. Now IGMA has recognized and nominated the group for this prestige award. The group led by music producer, composer and keyboardist, Kofi Thompson, mixes African Cultural rhythms with contemporary gospel music to bring to the table a unique and irresistible sound of praise and worship. Kofi who was born in Ghana has over 20 years of experience as a accomplished musician, having the opportunity to play with most of the top bands/stars in Ghana and beyond. He has played with the likes of Isaac Hayes, Hugh Masekela, Rev, Thomas Yawson, Tagoe Sisters, lucky Dube, and many more. Kofi Thompson serves as a music minister at True Light Worship Center in Clinton, Maryland. He is also a student at World Missions Ministries Bible College, preparing for Ministry. Together with the band, they have recorded 27 original songs on 2 albums. The first, "Worship of the Saints� was released in 2006. The CD has 15 songs, songs like �Rhythm of Praise� and �Take This Heart of Mine�. The second CD had 12 songs of declaration. This includes songs like �All Is Mine� and �So Amazing�. Their new CD for 2010 is almost out from the studio and according to Kofi; it is filled with intense worship that will get you started every morning. �It will lift you up when you are down.�
