Satellites� Float: 600 Police Officers Deployed

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Kwesi Ofori, has in an interview on Peace Fm�s �Kokrokoo�, disclosed that over 600 police officers have been deployed by the service to oversee a float by the victorious Black Satellites team through some streets of Accra. According to the Police mouthpiece, the Police administration and the Greater Accra Regional Command have mobilized the over 600 police officers to ensure an incident-free procession. ��the motor Traffic Transport Unit (MTTU) of the police service will also provide escort services� in addition the MTTU personnel and other police personnel will be at vantage points to ensure safety� he told Peace Fm. DSP Kwesi Ofori, however, appealed to all motorists to abide by road traffic regulations and not obstruct vehicular movement of the float and the police motorcade. Based on the feat achieved by the national U-20 team, the Black Satellites, in the just ended FIFA World Cup Tournament in Egypt, government today, Monday October 19th, arranged a ceremony whereby the playing body, together with the management team will parade the trophy through some principal streets of Accra, and present the coveted trophy to his Excellency, President John Evans Atta Mills at the Castle, Osu, later in the day. ��there will be massive police deployment along all these streets, as such all should observe the traffic regulations since it is a celebration for all,� he added.
