Ghanaians Can Trust Us; We Have A Proven Record Of Delivering On Promises Fifi Kwetey

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked Ghanaians to entrust the management of the country into its hands again at the coming elections because they have a proven track record of delivering on promises.

The party at the second in the series of press conferences to “set the records straight”, said the party had by far achieved what it had promised in its manifesto.

In an address, the Transport Minister Mr Fifi Kwetey said despite the challenges that the party encountered, it had been able to honour its promises.

He also asserted that unlike the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its candidate, who are peddling lies just to get power, the NDC’s candidate in the person of John Dramani Mahama can be trusted.

“The NDC and its candidate lays no claim to perfection but the truth is that Ghana can trust the NDC more because we have superior credibility. Ghana's destiny is too important for us to allow this dear nation to slip back into the hands of people who will stop at nothing to tell any lies just to take hold of political power,” he said.

According to Mr Kwetey, “Anyone can promise to deliver heaven in four years but what matters is not the promise but the track record of the candidate making the promise.”

“The NPP has over the years delivered inconsistencies, such duplicity, such hypocrisy and outright falsehood that the people of Ghana are right to disbelieve the promises. After a woeful performance in eight years they come back making more grandiose promises. A party that obviously believes that when you want power just tell the people anything, anything at all, just tell them,” he said.
