Really...You Don't Have Any Excuse, But!

Mrs. Ursula Owusu Ekuful, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, has expressed worry over the disqualification of Dr. Edward Mahama of the People's National Convention (PNC) from contesting this year's Presidential race.

According to her, it saddens her that a seasoned politician like Dr. Mahama didn't make it to the 'final' list.

Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Ursula Owusu Ekuful however wondered why Dr. Edward Mahama was disqualified.

She explained that the PNC flagbearer has a long experience in Ghana's electoral process since the party has been contesting the Presidential elections since 1992 till date.

To her, if he (Dr. Mahama) has been disqualified, then it's probably the party's own fault because she cannot understand how with all his experience, he together with the party failed to notice the mistakes they made to merit their disqualification.

"Since 92, you've been on the ballot. So, really, you don't have any excuse. That's the way I see it...but I'm sad that Dr. Mahama has been disqualified."

She further consented to the EC's decision to refer the issue to the Ghana Police Service and the Attorney General for prosecution, stressing that some of the mistakes bordered on criminality.

The Ablekuma West MP was also saddened by the exit of the Presidential candidate for the People's Progressive Party (PPP) Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings of the National Democratic Party (NDP).
