I Never Collapsed At NPP Manifesto Launch - Prof. Frimpong Boateng (VIDEO)

Renowned heart surgeon and senior NPP member, Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, has explained why he had to cut short his speech at the party’s manifesto launch at the Trade fair Centre last Sunday.

Speaking on Asempa FM Thursday October 13, 2016, Prof Boateng explained that he felt light headed due to the heat in the venue and a lack of food in his system.

“I was present very early before time at the programme’s venue at about 11am. I didn’t want to be late; besides the atmosphere was ragingly hot. I preferred coffee over a heavy meal in the morning before setting off. I sweated profusely. Moreover I drank less water because I didn’t want to visit the washroom at countless intervals…” he said.

He continued, “During my speech delivery time, my throat became dry drastically. I could not voice out a single word. I had zero option so I informed the officials I could not carry on anymore. I was very unhappy about it.”

“I had calls from friends saying I had collapsed and had been drenched with water, but this is Ghana; such misinformation is likely and normal. I wasn’t surprised. I’m better and stronger now by God’s grace” the celebrated surgeon concluded.

Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng stopped abruptly in the middle of explaining the NPP’s Science and Technology policies to eagerly listening party supporters, the media, members of the diplomatic corps and some party functionaries, causing consternation among both watchers and listeners.
