Kufuor Sold Ga Land To George Bush

It was not only the ministers and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that plundered Ga State lands in Ga Mashie by buying juicy lands and state buildings in the city of Accra but also went international to deprive the Gas a large plot of their land. For just a few metres away from the Dubois Memorial Centre in Accra, one would be hit with an American enclave on a large acreage of land which hitherto was the grounds of government bungalows. This American village now houses all the diplomatic departments including its embassy but is a shame that Ghana could allow the Bush administration then to cajole Kufuor to hand over such a large track of land belonging to the Gas to the Yankees. It is just preposterous that the Kufuor administration could have committed this unpardonable mistake by first of all cheating on the Ga State, which should be allowed to have the first option of the sale of the place when those colonial buildings were pulled down instead of the Americans. The mere large acreage dashed to the Americans showed how debated the Kufuor administration was upholding his friendship with George Bush more than the interest of his people including the Gas. When contacted to know how much the Americans paid for that large track of land and who sanctioned its sale, an official of the Lands Commission, refused to comment on that plot of land but said it was released to the Americans by the NPP government two yeas ago. One wonders whether an American government will release such a large track of land to a developing country to put up its embassy in America though we in developing country like Ghana are selling our land to those Western countries for a potash of a meal and the Kufuor administration should be questioned as to why they released such a large track of land to the Americans, how much they purchased it and where the money lodged.
