Mahama And His NDC Are Behind Ga Chieftaincy Disputes John Boadu

Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], John Boadu says President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] are behind the numerous chieftaincy disputes in the Ga traditional council.

He said for the past eight [8] years, the Ga people have not been able to properly celebrate their own Homowo festival.

“The NDC has decided to destool the paramount chief and some other chiefs so they can enstool their favorite in their own interest,” he said on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ in an interview with Kwasi Aboagye.

His comment comes after President John Mahama said the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, as intolerant as he is, will even cause the destoolement of chiefs who speak against his government if he wins power come December 7.

According to him, Ghanaians will do themselves a great deal of disservice if they vote for such a divisive leader who is not ready to accept any contrary views to his position held on issues.

Speaking at a rally in Suhum on Monday evening as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, President Mahama stated that divisions and suspensions in the NPP under Akufo-Addo vindicates Ex-President Kuffuor's statement captured in a video where he advised party members to elect a leader who is not divisive and creates tension.

But John Boadu rather accused the NDC of masterminding such moves on chiefs – he alleged that MP for the Odododiodio constituency, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye spearheaded all the controversies surrounding the Ga chieftaincy disputes.

“We have decided to keep quiet on this issues but the President wants it out. One must not indulge in such political gimmicks, we have serious issues to talk about...and Ghanaians will vote massively against the NDC,” he said.
