It is not fair for President John Mahama to say that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will cause the destoolment of chiefs should he win power, Kweku Baako has stated.

President Mahama is alleged to have stated that Nana Akufo Addo will ensure chiefs who speak against him (Akufo Addo) are destooled if he becomes the President.

According to him (Prez Mahama), Ghanaians will do themselves a great deal of disservice if they vote for such a divisive leader who is not ready to accept any contrary views.

The managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper who could not believe such comment will come from the President said “it is impossible for a President to destool a chief”.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Kweku Baako added: “I like the President but this cannot be sustainable…the constitution will not even allow this. If indeed the president said this, I find so amazing…is it possible for him to do that? I think there are things we should stop saying because it is not right. I don’t think it is fair that he said that…this is obviously something that should be left for the serial callers”
