Don�t Leave Us Out Satellites � Upper West Pleads

The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council had made a passionate appeal to the Black Satellites and their handlers to visit the region with the trophy to enable the people have a personal feel and touch of the prestigious award. Making the appeal through Times Sports here last Wednesday, the Regional Minister, Mr. Mahmud Khalid, said the chiefs and people of the region and football fans were yearning and anxious to receive the Satellites with the trophy. He said the victory of the Satellites had made all Ghanaians proud and the celebrations should not be limited to the capital city � Accra � alone Mr. Mahmud said the people of the Upper West Region are football loving people and looking forward to receiving the team and its handlers. He said it is the hope and believe of the people of the region that the visit of the Satellites would help strengthen the bond of friendship and cordial relations among the people to enhance growth and development. The Regional Minister congratulated the team and their handlers for their hard work, unity and sense of purpose exhibited throughout the tournament that enabled them to rule the world. He urged Ghanaians to let the victory of the Satellites that brought the people together be translated into positive action to move the country forward. Mr. Khalid advised the players and their handlers to maintain such high standards of discipline and hard work to enable them win more laurels for the country. He said with dedication, handwork and a sense of direction, all things are possible. �Your victory had made Ghana and the entire African continent proud and I pledge the solidarity of the people of the region to you and wish you well in your football careers,� he stated.
