The cry to salvage the woes of Gospel musicians seem to be coming to an end as a light has appeared at the end of the dark tunnel already. Many are the gospel music fans who have been asking why their idols have not been enjoying the deals that their secular counterparts have been enjoying. Just as the Black Satellites grabbed the ultimate world cup, a bird whispered into the open ears of the Flex newspaper reporters that one budding gospel artiste has broken the jinx that hampers gospel artistes from enjoying endorsement deals. This gospel artiste who seems to be cruising in this deal is the ubiquitous Kwaku Gyasi who is known for his strong voice and danceable praises tune. In our bid to get the whole truth of the matter from the horses own mouth (Kwaku Gyasi) who is currently in the Ashanti Region where he resides, he told Flex in a telephone interview that the information we have at hand is nothing but the truth. Kwaku was quick to add that his managers are still on negotiations with the managers of MTN to solidify the deal and also to append their signatures to all the benefits associated with the deal. Flex asked him what the deal will entail and he had this to say. �if we finally sign the deal with MTN, the leading communication organization in Ghana then I will be their brand ambassador in the country. I will represent MTN especially in the gospel arena which I think is a good thing� he revealed. Kwaku Gyasi who is just about releasing his latest album did not make public the amount which will be accrued from the deal as its usual with artistes in Ghana but was upbeat that everything will go through for him to join the yellow family which already have icons like Samini, Okyeame Kwame �Best rapper alive�, Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah and may be many more. Though we pushed Kwaku Gyasi to brief us about his new album, he was reluctant and only told us that even the title of the album is still being worked on, but promised to let us hear it first time before it comes out. On the other hand, Kwaku Gyasi has also lashed at fellow gospel musicians who collaborate with secular artistes to record songs on their album and added that he, as a gospel artiste, will never do that since he does not see it as a good thing. �What I am saying does not mean that secular musicians are evil or satans but what I mean is that, we are one people who can come together and do everything together as musicians. What I feel is that gospel musicians and secular musicians do different genres of music so we can�t collaborate on one album. Tough I don�t condemn those gospel artistes who have done that on their albums, I will never do it as a gospel artiste� he added. Kwaku Gyasi was reacting to a statement made by Slim Buster on the same issue. Slim was of the view that gospel artistes are hypocrites who always hide in the name of gospel music but do not do anything right. Slim in his statement said even some gospel artiste shy away from secular musicians when they meet them at events or shows which create the impression that secular artistes are evil.
