Former Ghana winger Bernard Don Bortey is ready to play for Hearts of Oak for free, the player has confirmed.
 
Bortey is likely to make a sensational return to the Club after 10 years away from the Rainbow Club.

The 40-year-old has been training with the Phobians in his quest to make a possible return to the Club which shot him to fame.

The former Ghana Premier League best player has revealed his readiness to play for the Ghanaian giants without any monetary incentive.

“I am not asking for any money, I just want to come and prove myself,” he said.

“This is where I made my name and I am determined to restore the club to its past glory.

“All I ask for the fans is their prayers and support and for officials to give me the opportunity again for me to prove that at this stage of my life, I can still excel.

“A lot of people have this misconception of me being a bad boy but then I am reformed now. I have guidance and I believe I can make it bigger this time.”

The ex-Ghana U17 star could sign a short-term deal with the Rainbow Club should he impress assistant Coach Henry Willington.
