Andre Ayew Target Second BBC Africa Footballer of The Year Accolade

Ghana attacker Andre Ayew is hoping to win the BBC Africa footballer of the year Award for the second time.

The West Ham United star has been nominated for the prestigious award following his tremendous form last season for Swansea City where he scored 12 goals to finish as the Club’s top scorer, a performance which forced West Ham United to break the bank after signing the 26-year-old in a Club record €20million.

The Black Stars deputy skipper is eyeing the BBC Africa footballer of the year accolade once again having won it in 2011 whiles plying his trade for French Club Olympique Marseille.

“It is a big honor, something every Africa player will like to win, I have won it before and will be hoping to win it again,” he said.

Ayew recently recovered from injury hence expected to help both West Ham United and the Ghana National team in subsequent games.
