PNC Launches Manifesto Today

The People’s National Convention (PNC) is expected to launch its 2016 manifesto today, Wednesday, 16 November, at Bolgatanga.

The party had earlier stated that it would not be swayed into bussing supporters from across the country to attend a launch to create an impression that it had a huge following ahead of the 7 December elections.

Director of Communications for the party, Emmanuel Wilson, said the manifesto was focused on how to harness the efforts and energies of the youth for national development.

“The flag bearer and the campaign team will be moving as early as possible to Bolgatanga for us to launch our manifesto. But before our manifesto even comes out, we have indicated on so many platforms that our manifesto and the policies therein are centred on three thematic areas. We are looking at a new beginning, we are looking at a new force, and we are looking at a new age,” he stated.

“The new force, which is really of interest to us as a political party, is that we want to harness the effort and the energies of all those who constitute the age bracket of 18 to 35. The PNC and Dr Edward Mahama say all the policies that we have in our manifesto which we are going to launch…have been tailored towards harnessing the effort and energies of the youth…”
