Promote maternal and child health- UGHANSA

The President of the University of Ghana (UG) Nursing Students Association (UGHANSA) Mr. Victor Godswill Kpodoviah on Saturday called on tertiary nursing students to sensitise, educate and promote maternal and child health in Ghana and beyond. Mr. Kpodovia made the call at a quiz competition organised by UGHANSA in Accra as a way of fostering unity among nursing students. He said support of maternal and child health should encompass the nutritional values in promoting the healthy growth of children. Dr. Francis Anto Lecturer at the university, who chaired the function, acknowledged the talent displayed by the contestants and asked them to take their lessons seriously. The four participating institutions were drawn from the UG, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Central University College (CU) and University of Cape Coast (UCC). The UG, which was represented by Mr. Adam Fuseini and Mr. Daniel Wovenu, took the first prize of GHC 200.00, a handbag, a certificate and a trophy. KNUST came second and took a cash of GHC 100.00, a handbag and certificate. CU took the third position and received a cash of GH 50.00 a handbag and certificate.
