Great Commission Church donates to Legon Hospital

The University of Ghana, Legon, Campus Ministry of the Great Commission Church International on Saturday donated clothing and medical equipment worth 1,000 Ghana cedis to the Legon Hospital. Reverend Dr Samuel Asuming-Brempong, Resident Pastor of the Ministry who presented the items, said the donation formed part of the activities marking the 10th anniversary celebration of the Ministry. He said the Ministry deemed it necessary to give to the society which had supported it over the years. Rev. Asuming-Brempong said; "The Hospital had served the University Community over the years and that it is the duty of the Ministry to give back what had been given to it". Mr Eric Gaisey, Administrator of the Hospital, said it was built for the sole purpose of providing medical services to members of the University Community. He said it was not until 1975 that the services were made available to members of the surrounding communities. Mr Gaisey said the Hospital, which was not funded by the government, depends on funds from benevolent societies and churches. He thanked the Ministry for its kind gesture and asked other organizations and churches to come to the aid of the Hospital
