Nana Addo Is Corrupt - Government Advocacy Group

With just a day to the 2016 General Elections a new attack has been launched against the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to a group called Good Government Advocacy Group Ghana, the NPP’s leader played a role in creating judgment debts and the payment of huge amounts to various companies or individuals as a result.

They issued a press statement regarding the role of the New Patriotic Partys involvement in creating and paying several cases of judgment debt including the Isofoton case the Drillship scandal and Delta foods.

Led by some NPP activists who have been vocal against Nana Addo’s candidature, the leader of the group Listowel Nana Poku Baah Achamfour and Charles Macarthy petitioned to the Electoral Commission seeking clarification on the status of the NPP Flagbearer as a Presidential candidate in the upcoming elections.

According to them “The NPP has criticized aggressively the NDC administration’s handling of this line of expenditure on various occasions in the public domain and fed the impression that they are beyond reproach pristine and spotlessly clean regarding the creation and payment of judgment debt. This is a deliberate distortion and an obvious lie. This is a blatant misrepresentation a brazen deflection and a shameful effort to hoodwink the unsuspecting Ghanaian public concerning the NPP’s extensive role in causing financial loss to the state.”

“The list of acts deliberate omissions and intentional ineptitude inefficiency lack of proficiency amateurishness inadequacy clumsiness and shocking inadequacy by the new patriotic party is equivalent to a level of incompetence never before seen in the political administration of Ghana.

“As a matter of fact this deficiency is not only restricted to the NPP as a whole but extends to their current flagbearer and presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as all of you will soon see and hear.” The petition reads

The Petition was delivered to the Electoral Commission on Saturday 3rd November 2016 around 6pm - citing several constitutional provisions and the White Paper on the Judgment Debt Commissions Report.

The group is asking the Electoral Commissioner Mrs. Charlotte Osei to determine the eligibility of Nana Akufo Addo as a candidate since by the adverse findings in the white paper against him he is disqualified from contesting the Presidential Elections.
