Yamoah Ponko Fights Minister Over Green Book

Controversial politician, Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, seems to have started a serious fight with his own political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) few days to the polls.

The former MCE for Ejisu/Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti region expressed unhappiness with the blunder in the NDC’s Ashanti Regional version of the famous ‘Green Book.’

According to him, the party has erroneously attributed projects that he (Ponko) initiated during his tenure to the current Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Andy Osei Okrah.

He threatened to make disclosures over the blatant blunder by the party after Wednesday’s general elections, stating that the deputy minister had unjustifiably claimed his glory.

Yamoah Ponko, speaking on Nhyira FM, said the deputy minister’s picture had been placed alongside some projects that he executed during his tenure as the MCE.

He claimed the picture of Hon. Osei Okrah, who is now the acting MCE of Ejisu/Juaben, was intentionally placed alongside the projects so that the deputy minister would gain an undeserved glory.

“I am attacking the deputy minister for claiming glory over a project which he was not the initiator. I am not happy about his motive to claim glory from projects that I executed as MCE,” Yamoah Ponko fumed.

As a politician, I am also thinking about my future and so would not keep mute for someone to claim glory from projects that I initiated as MCE of Ejisu/Juaben, he added.

Yamoah Ponko said development in the area had stalled ever since he left office, criticizing Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka ‘Wontumi,’ the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, for working to ensure his removal from office.

Hon. Andy Osei Okrah has suffered attacks within the NDC in the Ashanti Region ever since he was appointed by President Mahama as the NDC’s campaign coordinator.

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that some party gurus in the region seriously lobbied for the position in the region but they were overlooked by the president.

Political observers in Kumasi told the paper that they were not surprised about Yamoah’s sudden attacks on Mr. Osei Okrah with such feeble excuse.
