Isaac hits Number Four

Former Flying Eagles and Dream Team captain Promise Isaac scored his fourth goal of the season for Turkish top side Manisaspor but his team still fell 1-2 at home to Antalyaspor on Sunday. Isaac thought he had put the home side ahead when he slammed home before the half hour mark but the referee ruled the strike out adjudging the Nigerian was in an offside position. Tunisian international Ali Zitouni then fired the visitors ahead in the 35th minute to silent the home fans inside the Manisaspor Stadium. But Isaac powered home a header in the 71st minute from a corner kick to level score for his side. It was a nervy last 10-minute in this encounter before Manisaspor conceded a penalty which Turkish star Necati Ateş converted. Isaac and his teammates suffered a late setback as Liberian star Jimmy Dixon was given his marching orders with two minutes to go. "It was a tough game that we didn't deserve to lose but we have to look forward to the next game with positives," Isaac told KickOffNigeria.com. "Importantly, we played as a unit and everyone is hoping to correct the wrongs from the next game. "Hopefully we can bounce back from this and return the club back to the top five where we were before this month." Isaac, who is on a season long loan deal from high flying Trabzonspor, has a long history with the Nigeria youth side. He remains the first player in the history of Nigeria football to have captained the national Under-17, Under-20 and the Under-23 Olympic side that won silver at the 2008 Beijing games.
