Kwadwo Asamoah Wants To Be Excused From Black Stars Squad For AFCON 2017

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah have asked Coach Avram Grant and the Ghana Football Association to excuse him from the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2017 Cup of Nations, widespread reports in the media have hinted.

The player recently returned from a setback which has halted his career.

The versatile player is expected to make the Black Stars team for the competition in Gabon next month.

However reports in the media indicate the player wants to be left out of the team in order to get himself back on track at Club level.

Asamoah has lost his starting place at Juventus since returning from injury.

He missed the Cup of Nations tournament in Equatorial Guinea two years ago after sustaining an injury in December 2015 which kept him out of action for almost a year.

The Ghana Football Association is yet to release the provisional squad for the Cup of Nations after reportedly receiving a list from head Coach Avram Grant.

The Israeli will be hoping to have his key man (Kwadwo Asamoah) available for the tough hurdle ahead.

Ghana officially begins camping on December 28 in Accra.
