Ohemaa Mercy To Return All VGMAs Plagues Due To Bribery Allegations

Management of Ohemaa Mercy has strongly talked against bribery claims by George Quaye, PRO for Charterhouse.

Mr. Isaac Twum-Ampofo, head of Ohemaa Mercy’s management team in an interview with Zionfelix on Radio Univers Monday said the assertion that they offer bribe for awards has disgraced all gospel musicians in the country. According to him, George Quaye’s inability to mention names of the gospel artistes who offered bribe for the awards paints all musicians in the gospel industry black in the eyes of the public.

According to him, the public will accuse all gospel musicians who have either won awards or had nominations of paying bribe to attain the achievement. The man who announced that he was speaking with anger added that gospel musicians in the country work very hard so they never expected George Quaye to make such a statement to dent their image.

Mr. Twum Ampofo asked George Quaye to mention names of the gospel musicians who gave bribe else his artiste, Ohemaa Mercy will return all the awards she has won.

"It will be good for the gentleman (George Quaye) and his outfit to come out and mention names of those who paid or attempted to pay bribe so that some of us who have our credibility at stake will not have people looking at us with four eyes.

It is very painful and disrespectful to some of us who took some awards years back. For us, if they do not come out to mention names, we have to return the plagues to them.

They have to mention names because it has affected any individual who has ever had a nomination or won an award.” the angry manager told Zionfelix.

When Zionfelix asked if they will decline their decision to return all the awards Ohemaa Mercy has won when Charterhouse announces that his artiste who is also his wife did not offer bribe for the awards she has, the boss of Unique Brand Communication said without mincing words that they will not because “that will be very selfish of us to do that.”

Ohemaa Mercy and her husband, Mr. Isaac Twum Ampofo married on October 26, 2002, at the Church of Pentecost English Assembly in Koforidua.
