NIB Wins All Banks Football Gala

National Investment Bank Limited (NIB) defeated Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) 3-1 on penalties to win this year's All Banks Football Association Gala played at the Accra Technical Training Institute (A TTC) Park on Saturday. The match which started on a fast note saw NIB making incursions into their opponent's vital area but could not score as their attackers failed to utilize a number of scoring chances that came their way. The trend however changed in favour of ADB in the second session but poor shooting upfront also robbed them of victory thus forcing the match to go into he penalty shoot-out. NIB on their way to the finals edged out Ghana Commercial Bank 2-0 while ADB pipped Amal Bank 1-0. Sixteen banks including Barclays Bank of Ghana Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, SG-SSB Bank and Ecobank Ghana Limited participated in the competition. Mr Frank Kusi Addae, Vice Chairman of the All Banks Football Association said the aim of the competition was to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship among the banking institutions. He commended the participants for the sportsmanship exhibited throughout the games and urged them to keep it up to stay healthy. Mr Addae expressed the hope that the participants would continue to participate in the activities of the Association to ensure its growth and development.
