2017 Budget Full Of Contradictions – Omane Boamah

Former Communications Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has described the 2017 Budget presented by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta as one which is full of contradictions.

The Finance Minister after more two hour presentation on the floor of Parliament labelled the first budget by the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration as an Asempa budget. The budget saw the abolition of some taxes including ones on spare parts importation and kayayeis.

Reacting to the budget on his Facebook wall, the former Minister wrote that the budget was a rather one full of contraditions. “A budget of contradictions- the full length is in the details where the figures are (appendices),” he wrote on his wall.

His comment did not go down well with some known supporters of the NPP who asked him ‘are you still reading Mahama-Andrew Solomon 2016 budget?’
