NPP Condemns ‘Delta Force’ Attack…They Disrespected The Prez – National Chair

Acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddy Blay has described as “unfortunate” the recent attack on Mr George Adjei aimed at preventing him from discharging his duties as the Ashanti Regional Security Liaison Officer by some youth associated with the NPP.

He believes their action as a mark of gross disrespect to the office of the First Gentleman.

He was commenting on the arrest of one Kwadwo Bamba, 37, an auto mechanic, who led some well-built men of the Delta Force – the New Patriotic Party’s security arm in the region – to remove Mr Agyei from his office, on the grounds that he was not native to the region and played no part in the 2016 campaign, hence merits no appointment in the Akufo-Addo administration.

Bamba was arrested on Saturday but was granted bail by the Police on Monday

On Friday, March 24th, the ‘Delta Force’ group stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council to stop Mr George Adjei from performing his duties.

According to the group, they are not ready to work with a security coordinator who hails from another region other than the Ashanti.

Even though the security officer was appointed by President Nana Akufo Addo for the position, the youth was emphatic that they don’t need his service.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ Mr. Blay noted that “The entire party is not happy with what happened in Kumasi, the group disrespected the president and that is unfortunate.

To him, "what they did wasn’t proper!

Meanwhile, Kwadwo Bamba has apologised to the president on behalf of Delta Force for their action.
