We Don’t Deserve To Be In The Relegation Zone- Medeama Captain

The captain of Medeama SC, Joseph Tetteh Zutah has said, his club does not deserve to be in the relegation zone, taking into consideration their achievements and pedigree in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Yellow and Mauves are occupying the 14th position on the league log, with seven points out of a possible 24 and according to the captain, though he is not underrating any club, Medeama is bigger than that position.

Medeama, will play as guests to Tema Youth at the Tema Park on Sunday in match day nine of the ongoing GPL and the offensive midfielder remains confident his side will pick the maximum points to put their ambition of being in the top four on course.

He told the GNA Sports that “considering our position on the league log, the playing body and the team needs to improve drastically to achieve our target.

“We have psyched ourselves for our upcoming game against Tema Youth and with fair officiating, we hoping to get the three points, to make sure we come out of the relegation zone because clubs like Medeama, with our pedigree and per our previous achievement doesn’t deserve to be in the relegation zone.

“I’m not saying any team deserves to be there, though and I’m not underrating any team, but Medeama can do better than our current position.”

When asked about what accounted for the Club’s poor run this season, the 22-year-old noted that, “I blame the playing body, technical team and management body for the Club’s poor run in the 2016/2017 GPL campaign adding that “our target is to be in the top four and if possible win the league. When we start winning games, we will achieve our target.”

He therefore called on the supporters to rally behind the team for a successful campaign “we need the supporters too. We can’t do without them”

Out of the eight matches played, Medeama has won one, drew four and loss three matches.
