Popular Music Producer Detained

Renowned Music producer and Sound Engineer Edward Opoku known in show-biz circles as Hammer, C.E.O of �The Last Two Music Group, was arrested and detained last Friday afternoon, November 6th. He was picked up immediately after a press conference held at the plush Royal Richester Hotel, East Legon, Accra, by one of the artiste on his record label, Ayigbe Edem. Hammer, was in the center of affairs of the press conference he organised for Edem, to address the issue of an alleged mobile phone, he (Edem) was said to have stolen. The phone, said to cost over 14 thousand dollars ($14,000), belonged to Ayigbe Edem�s ex-lover Confidence Hengan, C.E.O of Afrodisiac Night club. An investigation by Peacefmonline indicates that Hammer�s arrest was caused by his ex-girlfriend, who lodged a case against him (Hammer) for failing to provide for the upkeep of a child a child she had with him. The police subsequently effected Hammer�s arrest. Hammer was initially sent to the East Legon Police station and later transferred to the Airport Police station. He has being released, whiles the case has been referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police.
