Sports Ministry Presents GH¢14,000 To Former Boxing Champion For Surgery Bills

Deputy Youth & Sports Minister Pius Enam Hadzide today presented a cash of GH 14,000 to former National Welterweight champ Isaac Aryee to cover for his surgery bills.

Aryee, who is undergoing treatment at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, was allegedly knocked down two weeks ago by an alleged hit-and-run police driver and had to require an emergency surgery.

The Bukom native was saved by a good Samaritan who rushed him to to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital accident centre where he is under the knife for a broken neck.

The surgey on his neck required 14,000 cedis and the ministry have today paid for the entire cost of the surgery.

The MOYS is therefore calling on the IGP to investigate the matter and if found to be true, institute the necessary sanctions
