Record Breaker Accam Strangely Ignored By Black Stars

Pacy Ghanaian forward David Accam has made history with his club side Chicago Fire in the MLS after becoming the first player in their history to score in five consecutive matches.

However his form has been ignored by handlers of the national team of Ghana for the upcoming Afcon qualifier against Ethiopia and the international friendlies against the United States and Mexico.

Head Coach of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah strangely could not find a spot for Accam in his thirty man squad.

He responded to the snub in the best possible manner by helping his side beat a resilient Dallas FC.

In typical fashion Accam latched unto a diagonal pass from Johan Kappelhof before shaking off his marker and firing hard and low to restore Fire’s lead in the 9th minute against Dallas FC.

His fine form is a major reason why Chicago Fire have also been able to win four consecutive matches, taking their points tally to 24 for the season and elevating them to second on the Eastern Conference log.

With seven goals in thirteen matches he is making his presence felt on the MLS leader-board and currently ranks fifth on the goal scorers chart.

He is also his team’s most creative player with four assists to his name.
Accam has received call ups to the national team in the past but has failed to entrench himself as a permanent member of the set up.
