The Assistant Coach of Sekondi Eleven Wise, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has categorically denied allegations making rounds that he, together with Head Coach, CK Akunnor, have threatened to resign from the Sekondi based club, as they are dissatisfied with recent events in the club.
Speaking to PEACE Power Sports, Odartey admitted that the technical team is going through some turbulent times, since there is a rift between the supporters, and that has subsequently caused a lot of worry, but denied ever going public about quitting the club. He described the allegations as �wild claims� since they have no basis.
�The support base of the club is divided into Moslems and Fantes in Sekondi which is a source of grave concern to us, the coaches,� he stated.
When asked whether he harbours the feeling that some supporters are employing juju against the progress of the club, the former Black Stars player confirmed the claim of superstition saying, �they said it before the start of the premier league that we will suffer in the first five matches and that has happened exactly�.
He was however, optimistic that Eleven Wise will bounce back as the technical team works around the clock to ensure the team achieves good results in their subsequent matches.
The Sekondi-based club Eleven Wise sits perilously at the bottom of the GLO Premier League with just 4 points gleaned from six matches.
