Man City Boss Hoping For League Cup Win Against Arsenal

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes believes that a win against Arsenal in the League Cup will go some way in steadying the Eastlands ship, following a series of unremarkable results. The Gunners will travel to the City of Manchester Stadium on Wednesday evening, with a spot in the semi-final up for grabs. And Hughes insists that his Sky Blues could turn the corner by registering a victory against Arsene Wenger's team. "If we can get into a cup semi-final everyone will be delighted," the gaffer is quoted in The Sun as saying. City have drawn their last seven league games in the Premier League, and are consequently in seventh place three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal. "We are in the habit of drawing right now," Hughes said. "It's frustrating because we have been in a position to win in three or four of the games we drew. "But we are not a million miles away from the target we set ourselves for this stage of the season." The League Cup clash is scheduled to kick-off at 19:45 UK time.
