Education is a profitable venture- Headmaster

The Headmaster of Apam Senior High School, Mr Archibald Kobina Fuah has exhorted parents to regard their children's education as an investment which they must build upon to yield profit. Mr Fuah said "every investor would expect good dividend on his or her investment, therefore parents must expect dividends from their children's education". Addressing a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting at Apam he urged parents to provide their children with the needed materials to make the investment worthwhile. "We in the school shall do all what it takes to make the investment a success," he assured. He commended the parents for their support, which had contributed to the improvement in academic performance and discipline at the school. He said last year the school recorded the best result in the West African senior Schools examination in a decade. Mr Fuah said the school had completed rehabilitation works on the computer laboratory, which could accommodate 80 students at a time. He said the school had also constructed a new bath house with washing basin for the girls from the PTA dues. The headmaster appealed to the parents to provide air conditions for the computer labs to prolong the life span of the computers. He also appealed for additional computers to enhance Information, Communication and Technology education in the school. Mr Fuah expressed concern about encroachment of the school's lands and warned that the academic facility would not hesitate to pull down structures illegally put on the lands. Mr Kojo Pratt, chairman of the PTA commended the headmaster and the staff for working hard to improve on discipline, sports and academic work. He appealed to parents to pay their dues promptly to enable the association to get funds to sponsor projects in the school.
