Nigerians Now Patronizing My Songs More – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has claimed that there is a mad rush for his songs by Nigerians after attacking Wizkid.

According to him, it openly showcases the support they have mounted for him against the ‘come closer’ hitmaker.

Shatta Wale a fortnight ago stirred controversy in the industry when he claimed he does not see Nigerian artiste, Wizkid as a superstar.

He later fired a warning shot to warn him and other artistes like Patoranking and Timaya not to ever step foot in Ghana.

At the recently held ‘S Concert’ at the Accra Sports Stadium, Shatta slapped his bodyguard on stage; he received a lot of backlash from fans and industry players who deemed the gesture unnecessary.

But according to Shatta Wale, he believes the brawl with Nigerians served as an advantage for him to penetrate into their music industry.

In an interview with host Andy Dosty in Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker said ‘Nigerians are now calling me. Now I see Nigerians commenting on my song. I am getting the positive feedback. I am not saying that is the best way. But that is my best way…”

Asked if he is worried about the negative comments tied around his neck, he said ‘that is how I do it. Someone sees it’s a disgrace but that is my grace.’

He reiterated the fact that he has no beef with Wizkid but the negative feedback has made him learn most Ghanaians are unpatriotic.

“I didn’t say anything to Wizkid, I was elaborating on facts and it got me there. Those against me are not Ghanaians because they don’t support their own. I can give them all they want all the time. We don’t have love in the country. You don’t have to be always humble in showbiz…” he explained.
