Avram Grant Ruined Ghana Football — Nana Aba Anamoah

Reigning Radio and Television Personality of the year Nana Aba Anamoah has thrown jabs at former Black Stars coach, Avram Grant, describing him as bad news to the progression of Ghana Football.

According to the ace broadcaster and sports lover, she did not understand why officials of the Ghana Football Association folded their arms and watched blindly while the performance of our senior soccer team, the Black Stars deteriorated.

She explained that instead of staying in the Country and scouting for local players to build the Black Stars squad, Avram Grant took it upon himself to travel from Tv shows to shows serving as a pundit. An activity she explained no official of the GFA condemned for reasons best known to them.

The GHOne Tv news editor added that, his trips to the various Tv shows to serve as a pundit could have been forgiven if he was performing on his day job which was to manage the Black Stars and ensure their qualification to the 2018 world cup. A task he completely failed.

“AVRAM GRANT COMPLETELY RUINED GHANA FOOTBALL. OUR FIFA RANKING WAS HIGHER WHEN HE ASSUMED HIS POSITION AND HE DID WELL TO BRING IT DOWN. I CANNOT PUT MY HANDS ON WHAT HE HAD ON THE GFA OFFICIALS THAT LEFT EVERYONE SILENT ABOUT HOW HE MANAGED THE AFFAIRS OF THE TEAM,” SHE SAID.

Recounting the progression of sports this year on Agoo TV, Nana Aba Anamoah said, the coming back of former Black Star International player, Kwasi Appiah as head coach of the Senior National Team is the best thing that has happened to Ghana football all through 2017.

Coach Avram grant resigned in February after failing to meet his target of winning the African cup of nations with the Black Stars.

His resignation followed calls from Ghanaians that the Israeli trainer should be sacked following his average performance as coach of the team.

She however called on GFA officials to recognize other national teams like the women’s team who have also been impressive this year. According to her, the too much recognition given to the Black Stars is one of the many reasons why the team has not won anything in 35 years.

She called on government agencies and other private companies to support the women’s team because they are faced with lots of challenges.
