Kufuor Attacks Nana Addos Team

Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor is an angry man. One of the reasons for his anger is the way and manner some members of the campaign team of the NPPs 2008 presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo have been blaming him in part for the partys defeat in 2008. An analysis of the response of the ex-President to certain issues raised in the book, Chasing The Elephant Into The Bush - The Politics Of Complacency by Dr. Arthur Kennedy, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). His responses were conveyed to the public through a press statement signed by his spokesperson, Mr. Frank Agyekum.Ex-President Kufuors responses were in relation to why he said at the Palace of the Omanhene of Wenchi that there would be no vote in Tain. He also explained why his government had decided to build the Golden Jubilee House and the purchase of two aircraft for the military. Regarding the purchase of the aircraft, the ex-President explained in part, also, it is worth noting that our Presidential Candidate, then Foreign Minister and Cabinet Member had supported the purchase arrangements. The next paragraph read, uncharitable remarks on these vital projects were made by some people who should have known better. But, who, for whatever reason, seemed to prefer to lose sight of the many pro-poor interventions the government had made and continued to make even in its last days in office. The ex-President also dropped a hint about how his policies were not defended enough, it was obvious that many of our own people had bought into the opposition propaganda about the appropriateness of these projects and had let it affect their thinking. They could therefore not defend them as vigorously as they should.
