Ga East District Colts League commences on Dec. 12

The 2009/2010 Ga East District Premier Colts League will kick off on Saturday at the various approved centres. Twelve football clubs dotted around the Ga East District will be participating in this year's edition of the annual championship. Steve Mensah, Executive Member of the Ga East Juvenile Football Association told GNA Sports on Thursday that the teams have been grouped into two zones; Zone One and Two. He said the top placed clubs in each zone at the end of the round-robin will square off to decide the eventual winner. Mensah said the League will be held in three age divisions namely; Under-12, Under-14 and Under-17 and there will be champions for each of the age divisions. He mentioned Mama Lit Restaurant and Barons Distilleries as sponsors of the championship. For the opening matches, Klangmatulis Academy will host Top Ten Academy in the top-liner in Zone One at the Botwe Town Park. Great Astonians will face Adenta Youth at the PRESEC Junior High School Park whilst Manchester United sort things out with Madina Youth at the Madina No. 1 Cluster of School Park. In Zone Two, Mobile Phone People will come face to face with Touch of Bronze at the Bawalashie School Park, All Stars versus Kalisto Sporting Club at the Legon Village Park and Destiny Mall against Lazio FC at the La Kwantanang School Park.
