Nana Akomea Rants Foolishness At Arthur Kennedy

New Patriotic Party (NPP) guru and Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South, Hon. Nana Akomea has descended heavily on his partys 2008 Campaign Communications Director, Dr Arthur Kennedy, saying his decision to contest for the flagbearership of the party 2007 was borne out of foolishness. Nana Akomea joined the tongue-lashing squad of the NPP against Dr Arthur Kennedy on Metro TV Good Morning Ghana last week. Dr Arthur Kennedy has been at the receiving end of massive attacks on his integrity by members of his own party, following a book he wrote on his assessment of happenings within the NPP, which led to the partys defeat in the 2008 elections by the NDC entitled, Sending The Elephant Back To the Bush. The US-based medical doctor took part in the overcrowded NPP flagbearership race that saw as many as 17 persons vying for the position in order to lead the party in the 2008 elections and got only a single vote at congress. Since information about his yet to be launched book became public knowledge, his party members have not failed to seize a single opportunity to insult, vilify or castigate him for exposing the rots in the NPP. Dr Arthur Kennedys single vote predicament in his failed flagbearership bid has made him easy target for his attackers who have used it as a basis to insinuate that he is not relevant to the party after all. Nana Akomea in joining the Arthur K. Bashing squad did not sound any different from the others. However, in adding to the Arthur K. single vote-bashing chorus, Hon Akomea added an insulting dimension claiming it was foolishness that led the medical doctor/politician to contest for the flagbearership of the NPP in 2007 which gave him a single vote. To further rub salt into the would he inflicted on Dr Arthur K. on the show, Nana Akomea said Dr Kennedy did not even deserve the single vote he got from the congress. Nana Akomeas tantrums have however been described as childish because according to many observers, the questionable choice of Nana Akufo-Addo as NPP flagbeaer in 2008 was not the true reflection of the wish of majority of delegates. Dr Arthur Kennedy decided to try his luck by aiming at the Presidency of this country via an NPP ticket but crashed at congress with a single vote because many are of the view that he did not match up to the corrupt game of the looting brigade in the NPP. NPP defenders like Mr. Kweku Baako and Gabby Asare-Ochere-Darko among many have all taken turns in subjecting Dr Arthur Kennedy to a heavy dose of tongue-lashing for daring to expose the rots in the NPP that led to its cashing defeat at the hands of the NDC in the 2008 general elections, which Dr Kennedy describes as sending the elephants to the bush. Meanwhile many people have hailed Dr Arthur Kennedy for his courage in deciding to write this book, which they say could serve as a reference point for all political parties as the nations democracy moves forward in the right direction.
