DCE gives plates, cups and spoons to school

Bukari Zakari Anaba, the Tano South District Chief Executive, has presented plates, cups and spoons to Akobro L/A Primary School in support of the school feeding programme. The items were 300 plates, 300 spoons and 288 cups to replace the ones which the DCE said were taken away by the schools former caterer when her contract with the programme ended. Mr. Anaba said he was moved by the plight of the pupils who took their meals in turns because of lack of the items. Because of the seriousness that the government attaches to the programme I had to act fast to save the children and their education, he said. Mrs. Hannah Ofori, the Head teacher of the school, thanked the DCE for his timely intervention as the pupils had to carry their bowls from home for their meals. She appealed to parents to ensure their wards did not take any of the items home.
