Yusif Basigi, head coach of the national female U-20 national team, the Black Princess, has said, his team is mentally prepared and ready for the last hurdle of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Cameroon on Sunday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Black Princesses made a giant step into the final game, as they held the Cameroonians to a one all draw game in Yaoundé in the first leg encounter of the African qualifiers.

Coach Basigi, said he was aware of the threats of the Cameroonians and their are working towards that.

In an interview with GNA Sports, coach Basigi said, his team was well conditioned and prepared for the task ahead.

“The team is getting on well and preparing for the game ahead, we played a training match amongst ourselves in Cape Coast yesterday and it was fine.

“We have been doing some shake ups to adopt to the environment here and now what we are going to do is work on our lapses and the opponent’s weaknesses and assess their strengths as well.

“My team is mentally strong and prepared for the task ahead, they know it is the last hurdle and most of them have been to World Cup before and they know what it takes to get there and all we have to do is just keep reminding them of the task ahead,” he added.

According to coach Basigi, the first leg results has put the team in a better position to qualify, but nothing should be taken for granted.

“It was a good results for us, if we had lost in the first leg it would have been a huge task, but now we have to map up a strategy to overcome them and make Ghana proud,” he noted.

Basigi, said there are injury concerns in camp and their working on the fitness of the players.

He urged Ghanaians to come in their numbers to support the team to make it to the World Cup.

The second leg of the qualifier would come off on Sunday, 28th January, 2018 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
