Ghana Is Blessed for Having Rawlings and Mills As Leaders Fritz Baffour

Let me tell you, we are blessed to have Rawlings and Mills as our leaders. This is what Fritz Baffour, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South, told the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) members last Saturday at a ceremony to award certificates to the partys polling agents in the 2008 general elections. The MP said there was no rift between the Ex-President Rawlings and President John Evans Atta Mills and gave the assurance that the NDC would not split because of the recent criticisms against the government. According to Mr Fritz Baffour, NDC is lucky to have former President Rawlings, who is honest, to give out his sincere advice. Jerry is an emotional person and when he talks he does so with an emotion, he stated. He explained that former President Rawlings thought the government ought to move faster and asked, so why are we quarreling? Explaining what the Mill-led government has done so far, the MP told the party supporters that the first year was meant to evaluate and to manage the economy with prudence. Describing President Mills as simple and a clever man as well as a tax expert, the MP said the government decided to address the economy, which was in disgrace. He accused the past NPP government of excessive borrowing to carry out projects, many of which are uncompleted. He maintained that the government would complete those projects. Fritz Baffour disclosed that a new hospital was going to be built at Korle-Bu whilst the existing one, which has not seen any major renovation since 1926, would be rehabilitated.
