I am Not Perturbed - Arthur Kennedy

The former Director of communications of the 2008 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Arthur Kennedy has challenged all those predicting his political demise to be mindful of similar pronouncements made against President Mills in the lead up to 2008 elections alleging that Professor Mills was not fit enough to lead the National Democratic Congress to victory. According to Mr. Kennedy, those people who are today writing his Obituary in Ghanaian Politics are the same people who swore that President Mills will not last till Election Day. He said president Mills has proved those nay sayers wrong and if care is not taken, he might live to finish a second term. Dr. Arthur Kennedys book, chasing the elephant into the Bush: the Politics of Complacency has received tremendous bashing mostly from within the New Patriotic Party. Whilst some have described the book as a betrayal to the team he worked with, others have described it as nave and premature. Dr. Arthur Kennedy, former presidential candidate of the NPP told Citi news in an interview from his American base that he is unperturbed by the vilification he has received from his colleagues, stressing that posterity will judge him right. On comments that the Party may boycott the book launch which is planned for January next year, Dr. Kennedy says he is not worried and will trust Ghanaians to turn up for the event. If the party boycotts it the people will come. You should be careful about who is speaking for the party thoughI joined the party based on principles and long after ephemeral leaders are gone I will still be with the party, the party whose principles inspired me to fight the dictatorship of Rawlings, the party of Busia and the party of Danquah will welcome what I am doing, so if that is the party I know my future is very bright, he said.
