Following HIS achievements in the music industry, the Chairman of the National Society of Ghana Music Producers (NASGAMP), John Mensah Sarpong... , was recently honoured by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and Norwegian Copyright Development Association (NORCODE) with a certificate of recognition at a workshop organized in Accra. John Mensah Sarpong was selected to represent Ghana at the just ended WIPO/NORCODE training programme on management of copyright and related rights in the global economy held at the Erata Hotel, East Legon, in Accra. The week-long training programme was attended by some selected personalities from Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, whose contributions in the copyright sector in their various countries have been recognized. John Mensah Sarpong, who was on hand to receive the certificate, told BEATWAVES that he has plans to organize workshops and seminars to educate the stakeholders in the copyright sector in Ghana to upgrade their skills. He disclosed that he is in consultation with certain groups to assist in the organization of the impending workshops and seminars.
