Deputy Minister Rally Support For Regional Chairman

Mrs Tina Gifty Mensah, the Deputy Health Minister, has called on members and executives of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to support the newly elected Regional Chairman to ensure peace and unity.

She pledged to give the Chairman, Mr Divine Otoo Agorhom, all the support adding; “I will work closely together with the regional and constituency executives to ensure that the Party was strengthened.”

Mrs Mensah, also the NPP Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, made the remarks in Accra during the swearing-in of the newly appointed officials of the Weija-Gbawe Constituency of the Party.

They include five Council of Elders, five Council of Patrons and five Disciplinary Committee members.

Mrs Mensah further appealed to the executive to bury their differences and rally behind the chairman as “we are of the same stock".

Mr Agorhom, on his part, assured the members that although many regrettable events happened before and during the elections, “it is over and currently there is a lot to be done by the party in order to retain power in 2020.

"Coincidentally, this happens to be my first official duty as regional chairman and I’m happy to have joined party faithful here in this constituency".

Mr Agorhom reiterated his commitment to all his campaign promises and assured them that he would use his office to help better the lot of the grassroots through his flagship message; “Partnership for Development.”

The NPP Greater Accra Regional Chairman was on Saturday elected with 276 votes, beating his main contender, Mr Alfred Boye, then the Acting Regional Chairman, with seven votes.
