It Hurts To Know You Are Being Wasted - Actress Cry Out

Striking and burgeoning actress, Ingrid Nyarkowaa Alabi, like many other fresh faces in Ghanas film industry is definitely not happy about how she is sometimes sidelined when it comes to playing lead roles. The actress told NEWS-ONE on Friday that it is sometimes worrying to know that she is good but with jobs not forthcoming. Sometimes it hurts to know that you are not getting roles the way you want it. I know I can do better and I am not given the opportunity. It worries me sometimes that there is something in me that I want to give out and I am not being given the chance to do so. It is worrying.I hope that someone somewhere will see the light in me. But it is hurts to know your talent is wasting, she said. The actress is, however, appreciative of the fact that some Ghanaian movie enthusiasts have been acknowledging her supporting roles. Ingrid got an opportunity into Ghanas revamping movie industry via a supporting role in Venus Films Tears Of Woman in 2007. Her subsequent role in the movie Playboy, alongside Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari Nana Ama McBrown and Pascaline Edward, proved her dexterity. The first runner up of the 2004 edition of the prestigious Miss Ghana went on to play another supporting role in the movie Girls Connection and the recently-released Princes Bride. Sometimes it makes me feel happy when you guys ask me why I am doing well and I am not given the chance to do more, especially with respect to lead roles. It gives me the hope that Im being acknowledged and that people are appreciating what I have been doing, she said. The last time she was in the news was when she splashed over GH3000 worth of gifts on inmates of the Osu Childrens Home to mark her birthday. She provided the children with fried rice and big portions of chicken, soft drinks and other savories. On Friday, she told NEWS-ONE said she is planning to go back to her needy friends this Christmas season.
