Newcastle United Join Race For Jordan Ayew

The Magpies boss is in the market to strengthen his squad and the Ghanaian could be one of the new players heading to St. James' Park.

Newcastle United have become the latest Premier League club to join the hunt to sign Swansea City striker Jordan Ayew, according to The Chroniclelive.

The 26-year-old Ghana international is currently a subject of transfer speculations with Liverpool and returnees Fulham showing interest, although the latter's £8 million bid was rejected last week.

With Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez expected to sign at least four players during the summer window, a lot of new faces are expected at the St. James' Park next season.

West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon appears to be Benitez's top target but with the price tag of £16.5 million on the Venezuelan, Ayew seems to be the next option.

Swansea are willing to sell a number of top players to cut down on wage bill following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Ayew was the Welsh side's topscorer last term with 12 goals and was also adjudged Players' player of the Year.
