This Player Picked Up The Fastest Card In World Cup History

Mexico defender Jesus Gallardo wasted no time in making his presence felt during their final World Cup group stage game against Sweden on Wednesday.

The Monterrey player picked up the fastest card in World Cup history when he clattered into the back of Ola Toivonen after just 15 seconds and received a yellow.

It was the quickest booking since cards were introduced at the 1970 edition of the tournament, held in Gallardo's homeland.
